Jarryd Foreman - Worship pastor
Raised in a Christian home, I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of eight after asking my mother and pastor many questions about Jesus and what salvation meant. While most of my young life consisted of going to church and knowing that Christ was my Savior, I wasn’t completely aware of how to live my life for Him. As I grew older, situations and circumstances led to a spiritually dry and dark time in my life. Growing up I was consumed with competing in golf tournaments and developing my musical talents. God first began to lay on my heart a calling for the ministry during a mission trip to Guatemala in 2003. However, I ignored this calling because I was still pursuing my own dreams and aspirations, which were contributing to my distant relationship with the Lord.
After graduating from Belmont University in May 2006, I desired an illustrious career in music business or professional golf; however, God continued to overwhelm my heart with the calling that He had placed on my life earlier. After much prayer God revealed to me that I needed to surrender everything to Him, and He opened my eyes to His will. This is when I fully surrendered to the ministry. The Lord then led me to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to further my education in music and biblical studies. It was at this time that I realized the difference between religious legalism and a faithful, authentic life of exalting Christ. It was also at Seminary where I met my beautiful wife Jessica and in February of this year we welcomed our baby girl Liv Monroe. Having a family has enhanced my understanding of who the Lord is and has enriched my worship of Him. It is my passion and desire to bring honor and glory to Christ through a life consumed in worship and to encourage others to have that same yearning.
