Nick Jones - high school pastor
Nick was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado, where he graduated from High School in 2004 and went on to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. A baseball player at CU, Nick was majoring in Accounting, and then Finance, Management, and even Marketing when he realized the business world was not for him. In the spring of 2007, Nick transferred to Colorado Christian University. In May 2009, after a 5th year of college that he refers to as his “victory lap”, Nick graduated with a degree in Youth Ministry.
During his time at CCU Nick was on staff at Trinity Baptist Church in Aurora, CO, and upon graduating spent a summer working in Glorieta, NM. From September 2009 until March 2010, Nick was the Student Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Camden, AR, at which point God lead him to Texas.
Nick is a sports junkie, and bleeds purple and black for his Colorado Rockies. He has a passion for watching students take ownership of their relationships with Christ, and in turn discipling other students to do so. In Colorado, there are bumper stickers that read “I was born in Texas, but I got to Colorado as fast as I could.” Nick’s bumper sticker would read, “I was born in Colorado, but I got to Texas as fast as I could.”
